Is artificial grass worth it if I already pay a lawn service?
It depends on what you spend now and what you want from the yard. Turf removes mowing, but not all upkeep: you still brush it, clear leaves and debris, and rinse or spot clean. We do not promise a payback period. Compare your yearly lawn costs against the installed price in your quote and decide on that. On a Houston lot, count what you actually spend on mowing, patching and replacement sod, not the whole water bill.
Can turf replace my dead St Augustine lawn?
Yes, we remove the old grass and prepare the base. But a dead lawn sometimes has a fixable cause, like shade, drainage or pests, so it is fair to ask whether reviving it makes sense. We will tell you what we see on the visit, and you decide.
What yard work will I still have to do?
Less than a grass lawn, but not none. Plan on clearing leaves and debris, brushing the surface now and then to keep it even, and rinsing or spot cleaning where needed. If you have pets, pick up waste and rinse regularly.
Will it look fake from the street?
Looks depend on the turf and on seeing it in real light. Ask for samples at your home and compare them morning and evening. Our gallery shows real finished lawns so you can judge what the finished work looks like.
Will my HOA let me put turf in the front yard?
That is up to your HOA, and we cannot promise approval. Check your rules and get written approval before you order, especially for a front yard. Our Texas HOA guide explains what to look for, and we can help with your layout and materials details. Also ask your city or county about any permit requirements for your project.
How hot does artificial grass get in Houston?
It gets hot in direct summer sun. Our standard installation includes cooling infill, but infill does not make the surface safe for bare feet or paws, and we do not quote a temperature drop. Think about shade, rinse before use on hot afternoons and check the surface with your hand.
How much will I really save on watering?
We do not make a savings promise because it depends on your current lawn and bills. Turf does not need regular watering the way grass does, but you may rinse it for cleaning or cooling. Look at your own water bills before deciding.
Can I replace just the part of the yard I use most?
Yes. A partial replacement is something we can review on site: the play area, a side yard, or the patch that keeps dying. Tell us where the yard gets used most and we will quote that scope. That can be a courtyard, a side yard, or the part of the lawn that keeps dying.
What happens to my sprinklers and drainage?
Drainage is part of our standard installation, not a paid add-on, along with base preparation and old-grass haul-away. On the visit we look at the sprinkler heads and lines and where water sits. Unusual site work, if the yard needs it, is listed as a separate disclosed scope in your quote. We cannot prevent flooding. Flat ground is a reason to check grade and outlets, not a prediction that your yard will flood.
What does replacement cost when the turf wears out?
We cannot give a replacement figure today, and we will not guess a lifespan. Ask what is covered in the written warranty and how wear and replacement are handled. A future job will be quoted in writing for your yard at that time.
